6 Tips To Beat The Heat This Summer

Summer's back and we have already had a few really warm days. Hot days with kids can be a challenge, but with some simple ideas, you will be prepared to face the summer and emerge victorious. Here are a few simple and easy “beat the heat” ideas you can try:

  1. Limit childern's exposure to sun during afternoon when rays are intense and damaging

  2. Dress kids in protective clothing, eye gear and hats. Clothing can be an excellent barrier to untraviolet rays.

  3. Plan indoor activities during the peak hours

  4. Include liquids in the diet. Buttermilk, lemon water and milkshakes in addition to water is recommended

  5. Add a slice of watermelon, berries, mango, oranges, lychee, etc in diet to keep kids hydrated through the summer

  6. Discourage children from moving rapidly when they see insects - movement encourages insects to bite
